We are very fortunate to have four excellent environmental news sources that will keep us well informed. All four of them offer a sign-up for getting all environmental news into to your Inbox. They are all easily accessible and anyone can sign-up for current news. Membership in any of the sponsoring organizations is not required. The State of Washington and the Olympic Peninsula have incredible biological natural resources that are under attack from largely uncontrolled development. One Sierra Club newsletter that is especially important for restoring ecosystems and biodiversity is the Resilient Habitat News -
www.sierraclub.org/habitat/. Of special interest to the fisherman and hunter on the Peninsula is the Sierra Sportsman where sportsmen and environmentalists form coalitions to protect and restore habitats and thereby protect their recreational activities -
http://sportsmen.sierraclub.org . This newsletter also has Action Items of importance to sportsmen.
Puget Sound Partnership
One of the best governmental environmental newsletters for the state of Washington is published by the Puget Sound Partnership -
http://www.psp.wa.gov/ . It is a state agency created by the legislature and Governor Gregoire and is a community based effort by citizens, city and county governments, tribes, scientists and businesses working together to restore and protect Puget Sound. Their Action Agenda prioritizes cleanup and improvement projects, coordinates federal, state, local, tribal and private resources, and makes sure all are working cooperatively.
